Poncho docs

Poncho is a Telegram bot for BNB Smart Chain. Create a token on BSC in two questions, and buy and sell tokens from one chat. Everything happens in BNB: you deposit BNB, buy with BNB, every sale ends in BNB, and you withdraw BNB. You keep the tokens you buy.

Quick start

From nothing to your first trade in four steps.

  1. Open the bot and send /start. Go to t.me/PonchoBSCChain. Check the username before you press Start.
  2. Create or import a wallet. Create a fresh one, or import one you already have. Poncho holds the private key of every wallet, encrypted, either way. You can export a key at any time.
  3. Deposit BNB on BNB Smart Chain. Open Wallets, pick the wallet, tap Deposit and send BNB on BNB Smart Chain (chain id 4663) to the address shown. BNB sent on any other network will not appear. The screen lists three ways in: a withdrawal from a Robinhood account, the Relay bridge, and the canonical bridge from Ethereum, which takes about ten minutes.
  4. Paste a token address, or launch your own. Paste a contract address on Home to open its trading panel. Or send /launch to create a token on BSC.

Commands

Type these in the chat, or open the menu beside the message box. Most of them also have a button on Home.

CommandWhat it does
/startOpens Home. With no wallet yet, it shows the welcome screen.
/launchCreates a token on BSC, step by step.
/tradeOpens a token's trading panel. Paste its contract address. Pasting the address on Home does the same.
/walletsCreate, import and manage wallets: deposit, withdraw, send, rename, export a key, folders.
/balanceChecks your balances.
/positionsYour portfolio: tokens you launched and bought, with profit and loss where it can be measured.
/routesResumes or unwinds a half-done multi-step buy.
/activityYour recent trades, with the full log one tap away.
/feesClaims the creator fees from tokens you launched.
/referOpens Rewards: your referral link, what it has earned, and the Claim button.
/settingsBuy and sell presets, slippage, 1-Tap Mode, and whether you type amounts in BNB or dollars.
/helpHow the bot works, what it costs, and how your keys are kept.
/cancelStops whatever is in progress.

The Home screen

Home shows the active wallet, its address, which you tap to copy, and what it can spend right now: your BNB plus WETH, in BNB and in dollars. With two or more wallets, a second line totals all of them. Paste a token address here at any time to open its trading panel.

Wallets

You can hold up to ten wallets. One is active at a time: the one Home shows and the one trades use, unless you switch wallet on the trading panel itself. Open Wallets, or send /wallets, and tap a wallet to see what it can do.

ActionWhat it does
New walletCreates a fresh wallet.
Create manyCreates several at once, up to your limit. No keys are shown; export any of them later.
ImportAdds a wallet you already have, from its private key. The message holding the key is deleted from the chat.
Use this walletMakes it the active wallet.
DepositShows the address and the ways to get BNB onto BNB Smart Chain.
WithdrawSends BNB to an address you give. You confirm with CONFIRM SEND.
Send tokenSends a token the wallet holds. Pick it from the list or paste its address.
Disperse and ConsolidateDisperse sends BNB from one wallet to every wallet in a folder, in equal or custom amounts. Consolidate sweeps the BNB from a folder into one wallet.
FoldersGroup wallets into folders, rename or delete folders, move wallets in and out.
RenameGives the wallet a name.
Export keyShows the private key in the chat. The message deletes itself after a few minutes.
RemoveRemoves the wallet from Poncho. Withdraw or export the key first: once it is gone, its funds cannot be reached through Poncho.

! Your private key is everything

Anyone who sees it can take everything in that wallet. Never share it, never paste it into a website, and remember that screenshots and device backups outlive the chat deleting the message.

Trading

Paste a contract address on Home, or tap Trade Token. Poncho opens the token panel: one screen with what you need to decide, and the buttons to act on it.

What the panel shows

  • Price, market cap, liquidity, and liquidity as a share of market cap.
  • Tax, as buy, sell and transfer, and the maximum transaction and maximum wallet. Each reads N/A wherever Poncho could not read the figure. A number appears only when it was actually read.
  • Route: where this trade will execute. Origin: where the token came from.
  • A one line safety summary. Safety opens the full scan: what was checked, what came back, and what could not be checked.
  • Your position in the token, if you hold it, and the wallet the trade will use.
  • Links to the explorer, DexScreener and BSC.

An unknown figure shows as a dash, never as a made up number. A clean safety check means the specific things it tested came back clean at that moment. It does not make a token safe. What can go wrong is the page to read before you rely on any of it.

Example figures. The sell row appears only when you hold the token.

Buying and selling

  • The green buy buttons spend a preset amount. The defaults are 0.01, 0.04, 0.1, 0.5 and 1 BNB, and you change them in Settings. Buy X lets you type any amount.
  • The red sell buttons sell a share of what the wallet holds: 25%, 50% or 100% by default. Sell X% sells any share you type.
  • The wallet button switches which wallet trades. Trade Settings sets buy and sell slippage separately, the gas fee cap and a slippage preset.
  • Every buy is checked against the chain before it is sent.
  • With 1-Tap Mode off, which is the default, every buy and sell shows a confirm screen first.

! 1-Tap Mode

With 1-Tap Mode on, the buy and sell buttons trade immediately, with no confirmation. It is convenient, and a mis-tap is a real trade. It is off until you turn it on in Settings.

Where Poncho trades

Poncho finds a token’s market across every major venue type on BNB Smart Chain: the BSC V2 bonding curve, Uniswap V2, V3 and V4, Flap Portal, and Launchpad Curve. The Route line on the panel names the one this trade will use.

Multi-step buys

Some tokens are priced in USDG or another token rather than BNB. Buying one can take more than one step: BNB into the quote token, then the quote token into the token you want. If a step does not complete, /routes lists the unfinished buy and lets you resume it or unwind it back to BNB.

Because Poncho trades in BNB, a sale always ends in BNB. If a sale leaves you holding USDG or another quote token, Positions shows it with a one tap Sell to BNB button.

Positions and Activity

Positions is your portfolio: the tokens you launched and the tokens you bought, what each is worth, and profit and loss where it can be measured. If a figure cannot be worked out, the row stays and says which part is missing and why. It never shows a holding as zero just because it could not be priced. Tap a token to open its trading panel.

Activity is your recent trades. The full log shows everything sent from your wallets: trades, burns, transfers, approvals and Poncho’s own fee records.

Launching a token

Send /launch or tap Launch. It takes two questions. Everything else is optional and one tap away on the review screen. Launch a token on BSC has the costs itemised.

  1. Name. Up to 32 characters.
  2. Ticker. Letters and numbers, up to 10 characters.
  3. Review, then confirm. The review screen shows exactly what the launch costs, read from the chain at that moment, before anything is sent. From there you can add or change the optional details, then confirm.

The optional details

DetailNotes
ImageA photo, or a direct https link. PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF, stored on public IPFS. Send a GIF as a file: Telegram turns a gallery GIF into a video.
DescriptionUp to 500 characters. Longer text costs slightly more gas.
LinksX, Telegram and a website.
WalletWhich of your wallets creates the token.
Developer buyBuy your own token in the same transaction as the launch, up to 5 BNB.
Creator settingsThe creator fee, Buyback and Lock, and the fee recipient.

The name, ticker, image, description and links are published on the chain and on IPFS. They are public and permanent.

Creator settings

SettingWhat it does
Creator feeA share of every trade in your token, paid to your fee recipient: 0%, 0.5%, 1%, 2%, or a figure you choose up to 10%. Set at launch, and it cannot be changed afterwards.
Buyback and LockOn or off. A slice of your creator fee share buys the token back. Those tokens are locked and released gradually over five years, split between you and the protocol. You can switch it later.
Fee recipientWhich wallet receives your creator fees. You can change it later in My Launches.

The wallet must hold the full gas allowance while the launch sends, even though the launch should cost less than that. The chain refunds what is not used. If the wallet is short, the review screen says how much it needs.

My Launches and creator fees

My Launches on Home lists every token you created. Pick one to manage it.

ButtonWhat it does
Creator FeesOpens your fees, the same as /fees. Sweep moves a token’s fees from the curve into the fee escrow; Claim moves them to your wallet.
Burn 50% or 100%Burns that share of the creator wallet’s own holding of the token. A burn is permanent.
Transfer TokensSends the creator wallet’s tokens to another address.
Change Fee RecipientPoints future creator fees at a different wallet. Claim what you are owed first.
Buyback and LockSwitches buybacks on or off.
Reinvest FeesSaves a percentage of your claimed creator fees to buy your token into your wallet, where it is liquid and yours to sell at any time. It runs each time you press Claim and Reinvest now: one claim, then one buy.

The creator fee goes to your fee recipient wallet. With Buyback and Lock on, a slice of it buys the token back instead. There is a second pot from trading on BSC, and you get a share of that too. Your share is read from your own token’s contract, not estimated.

Settings

Settings on Home, or /settings.

SettingWhat it changes
Buy presetsThe amounts on the green buy buttons.
Sell presetsThe percentages on the red sell buttons.
SlippageHow far the price may move before a trade is refused: 1%, 3%, 5%, 10%, 15% or 25%.
1-Tap ModeOff: every trade asks you to confirm. On: the buttons trade immediately.
Buy amounts inBNB or dollars. Dollars is only how you type and read amounts: it is converted to BNB as you enter it, and the trade runs in BNB.

Trade Settings, on the token panel

  • Buy slippage and sell slippage, set separately.
  • A slippage preset: Standard at 5%, Aggressive at 10%, or Max at 20%.
  • A fee cap: the most you will pay for gas, either Auto or a fixed cap from 0.1 to 5 gwei. It does not change the order of transactions. BNB Smart Chain orders them by arrival, first come, first served.

Referrals

Invite someone to Poncho and you earn 15% of Poncho’s fee on every trade they make, from their first one. It comes out of Poncho’s share, so they pay nothing extra.

  1. Get your link. Send /refer. Your link is at the bottom of the Rewards screen. Tap it to copy.
  2. Share it. A link only works for someone who has not traded on Poncho yet.
  3. Watch it add up. Rewards shows how many people joined through your link, and what you have earned, claimed and not yet claimed.
  4. Claim. Earnings are paid in BNB. You can claim once you have earned ten dollars, and you receive that amount less the network fee.

Holder cashback

From 24 hours after you start holding the Poncho token, part of the trading fee you pay comes back to you, by how much you hold. Open Rewards with /refer.

TierCashback, as a share of the fee you payHold at least
Tier 15%$100 worth, at the launch price
Tier 210%$250 worth, at the launch price
Tier 315%$500 worth, at the launch price
Tier 420%$750 worth, at the launch price
Tier 525%$1,000 worth, at the launch price

How your tier is set

  • Your holding is checked several times a day, at random. Your tier is the lowest holding seen in the last 24 hours.
  • A tier needs a full 24 hours of checks. Until then you are on Tier 0, with no cashback yet.
  • The thresholds are token amounts, fixed at launch, and the figures above are what they were worth at the launch price. If the price moves, the dollar value of a tier moves with it. The exact token amounts are on the Rewards screen.
  • Cashback counts only trades made after you qualify. It is not paid on earlier ones.

Cashback is claimed from the Rewards screen together with any referral earnings: paid in BNB, from ten dollars, less the network fee. One Claim button covers both.

Fees

WhatCost
Trading1% on trades by default.
Launching0.001 BNB to Poncho, taken only if the launch succeeds. BSC charges its own launch fee, which /launch reads from the chain and shows before you confirm.
GasPaid to the network on every transaction. It moves with the network, and the bot estimates it before you confirm. The priority fee is ignored: you pay the base fee.
Creator feeSet by each token’s creator at launch, between 0% and 10%, and paid to that creator.

Whoever invited you earns a share of Poncho’s fee at no extra cost to you. See Referrals.

Security

  • Poncho holds your keys. Wallets are created on Poncho’s server and every private key is stored encrypted. You can export any key from /wallets.
  • A pasted key is deleted. If you send a message that looks like a private key, the bot deletes it from the chat.
  • Exported keys delete themselves from the chat after a few minutes. Screenshots and backups do not.
  • Nobody from Poncho will ever ask for your private key. Anyone who does is stealing from you.
  • Protect your Telegram account. Anyone who controls it can use Poncho as you. Turn on two step verification in Telegram and keep your device locked.
  • Check the links. Use only the ones on Official channels.

What the bot stores, and why, is in the privacy policy.

FAQ

Is Poncho custodial?

Yes. Poncho holds the private key of every wallet, encrypted, so it can sign the trades you ask for. You can export a key at any time and use it in any other wallet.

Which chain does it support?

BNB Smart Chain, chain id 4663. Only send BNB on BNB Smart Chain to your Poncho wallets.

How do I trade a token?

Paste its contract address on Home or after /trade. Poncho looks for its market across every major venue type on BNB Smart Chain and shows the route on the panel.

Can I trade in dollars?

You can type and read buy amounts in dollars. They are converted to BNB as you enter them, and every trade runs in BNB.

Are limit orders, take-profit and stop-loss available?

Not at launch. Limit, take-profit and stop-loss orders are not live yet.

Can I change my creator fee after launch?

No. The rate is fixed at launch. The wallet the fees go to can be changed at any time from My Launches.

A trade says it was sent but not confirmed. What now?

Check the transaction on the explorer link before you try again. It may well have gone through.

Does using a referral link cost me more?

No. The referrer's 15% comes out of Poncho's fee. Your fee is the same as it would be without the link.

When does cashback start?

A tier needs a full 24 hours of holding checks, so your first cashback comes at the earliest 24 hours after you start holding the token.
